Training Details The Teacher Training meets daily for 11 days from approximately 8:30am to 5:00pm. The first six days of the course are spent studying, experiencing and learning all aspects of how to lead and create a dance journey, broken into segments. The last 5 days allow indepth practice teaching experience in a small group setting to fully prepare you to teach when you return home. The course is limited to 10 participants to allow for an intimate and personalized experience. It is cost effective as you only need to travel one time to our training location to complete the course. In addition to daily dance sessions, a range of lectures are offered on business and marketing, adapting the class to special populations, community building, leadership, mindfulness practices, goal envisioning, creative manifestation tools, music study and continuing education. Weather permitting, some class time will be outdoors. This dance modality is expressive dance. The gentle yoga section of this class in the beginning flows seemlessly into an expressive, freeing dance journey. It's far more than just the combination of yoga and dance. You learn to create an environment where one can dance spontaneously from an internal impulse versus following an instructor's technique. Each instructor brings their background, dance style and energy to create their unique class within the basic recipe for a Yoga Meets Dance™ class. Meals, transportation and accommodations are not included in the tuition price. A confirmation letter contans full details regarding travel, transportation and accommodations. Inexpensive housing is often shared at a local hotel, double or single room occupancy. Learn Hatha yoga basics, interactive, guided and expressive movement processes, therapeutic music selection, chakras study, guided imagery, community building, and stillness meditation with a 75-page training manual. Training manual is only $30, and contains class flow outlines, recommended music lists, marketing, business, and personal growth. You will continue to receive support after the training. An annual Instructors' Retreat provides a restorative environment to relax, learn new material, enjoy nature hikes, share, and receive support with other instructors.
